João Batista

João Batista Borges earned his Medical Degree from the University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil in 1993, followed by two Ph.D.s in Medical Science: one from the University of São Paulo (2003) and another from Uppsala University (2014).

He completed medical residencies in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and is Board Certified in Intensive Care Medicine by the Brazilian Association of Intensive Care Medicine/Brazilian Medical Association.

His extensive professional experience includes roles as a Senior Researcher at Charles University in Prague (from February 2020), a Research Associate at King’s College London (2018-2019), and Postdoctoral Researcher positions at Uppsala University (2008-2018) and the University of São Paulo (2003-2008). Prior to his dedicated research career, João Batista Borges also worked as a Physician in Intensive Care Medicine for a decade (1998-2008).
