Dr Miłosz Jankowski is a specialist in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine and Internal Medicine. He works as Deputy Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the National Medical Institute of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in Warsaw, Poland. His main area of clinical and scientific interest is intensive care medicine, especially respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation, extracorporeal life support (mainly ECMO), severe infections, shock and thromboembolic complications, as well as quality improvement and application of the evidence-based medicine (EBM) paradigm in intensive care medicine. Dr Jankowski’s interest in EBM has led to collaboration with Cochrane and co-authoring of systematic reviews, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in EBM. He is a member of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization, the European Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, the Polish Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, and the Polish Society of Internal Medicine.
